Cambodia Casinos

[ English ]

There is an appealing background to the Cambodia casinos that reside just across the border from next door Thailand, in which gambling den betting is not permitted. Eight gambling halls are based in a generally tiny space in the metropolis of Poipet in Cambodia. This conclave of Cambodia gambling dens is in an excellent area, a three to 4 hour drive from Bangkok and Macao, the two biggest betting locations in Asia. Cambodia casinos do a huge business with Thai blue-collar workers and guests from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with just a couple of Westerners. The astonishing capital acquired from the gambling halls ranges from seven and a half million dollars to more than 12.5 million dollars, and there are a couple of restrictions requirements for gambling hall ownership. Ownership is required to be mainly Thai; however, financial sources are cryptic. The borders are formally open from 0900 to 5:00 p.m., and although visas are allegedly necessary to cross, there are ways around this, as is accurate of many borders.

The 1st Cambodia gambling dens opened in Phnom Penh in 1994, but were forced to close in 1998, leaving just a single gambling den in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, a stationary barge gambling hall, features one hundred and fifty slot machines and sixty table games. The Naga gambling hall never closes with forty two tables of mini-baccarat, 4 tables of twenty-one, ten of roulette, 2 of Caribbean Stud Poker, and 1 each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.

The initial casino in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, premiered in the late nineties and the Golden Crown before long followed. A total of one hundred and fifty one armed bandits and five table games at the Golden Crown and one hundred and four one armed bandits and 68 gaming tables at the Holiday Palace. The latest Holiday Palace Casino and Resort highlights 300 slot machines and 70 table games and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has 166 slot machines and ninety six table games, including eighty seven baccarat banque (the most popular game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. Additionally, there is the Casino Tropicana, with one hundred and thirty five slot machine games and sixty six of the common tables, as well as 1 table of Casino Stud Poker. Another one of the 8 gambling halls in Poipet, again in a hotel, is the Princess Casino with one hundred and sixty six slots and 97 games. The Star Vegas Casino is is located in a comprehensive vacation and hotel complex that features a number of luxuries accompanying the gambling hall, which has ten thousand sq.ft. of 130 one armed bandits and eighty eight gaming tables.
